Victor BERTIN
Experience
Victor BERTIN is an associate at the firm. His work is divided between advisory and litigation services.
He handles cases related to general aviation, recreational aviation, and business aviation. As such, he is particularly involved in the defense and advisory services for aircraft operators (associations, ATO/DTO, private owners, corporate groups) regarding all matters of aviation operations.
He provides advice on operational methods and the structuring to adopt for operations under the NCC/NCO regime and supports operators in disputes related to the application of public transport regulations. He also deals more broadly with contractual issues that operators may encounter (purchase/sale, dry leasing, chartering, hidden defects, etc.).
Victor BERTIN also assists and represents aviation insurance companies, both at the stage of expertise (medical or technical) and during litigation.
Additionally, he represents airlines in mass litigation (disputes against passengers for delays/cancellations/baggage issues) and in administrative procedures (ACNUSA, INAD).
He occasionally addresses technical issues, particularly those related to maintenance.
As a private pilot and an aeroclub representative, and being familiar with safety management systems, he advises pilots, instructors, and operating structures on event analysis, and can intervene in potential disciplinary procedures conducted by the DGAC.
He is a member of the French Society of Air and Space Law (SFDAS), a ULM multiaxis pilot since 2013, and has been involved in managing an aeroclub since 2020.
Qualifications
Victor holds a Master’s degree in Business Law, a Professional Master’s degree in Air Transport Law and Management, and a Specialized University Diploma (DESU) in Aviation Insurance from the University Institute for Air Transport Training and Research (IFURTA – University of Aix-Marseille), as well as a Professional Master’s degree in International Strategy and Economic Intelligence from the Sorbonne.
He was awarded the 2016 Transport Insurance Meeting Prize for his study on the responsibilities and insurance coverage in aviation associations.
