Thierry MAZOYER
Experience
A lawyer since 2003, Thierry MAZOYER is a partner in the firm.
He advises and represents those involved in commercial and general air transport. He works especially with insurance companies and with aircraft owners or operators (airline companies, operators, individuals, sports federations, flying clubs, pilots etc.).
He defends insurance companies, especially in cases relating to aviation insurance cover and subsequent claims. He also defends airlines in mass litigation (delays, flight cancellations – EC Regulation N° 261/2004), favouring alternative litigation resolution methods (conciliation, mediation) when an out of court settlement appears possible.
At the advisory stage, he works alongside his clients in civil and criminal liability cases, and where appropriate before the relevant administrative, civil, commercial and criminal courts.
He also manages enforcement proceedings (protective seizure, asset seizure, seizures on bank accounts, aircraft seizure).
Thierry MAZOYER also advises and litigates in matters of personal injury compensation.
He is a member of the French Society of Air and Space Law (SFDAS).
Qualifications
A graduate of the EFB (studies for admission to the Paris Bar), he also holds a Master degree in Litigation.
Lecturing and Publications
Thierry MAZOYER has given seminars on Aviation Insurance Law at the Air Transport Training and Research Institute (IFURTA) of the University of Aix-Marseille since 2015.
He also provides training in the handling of claims from passengers for personnel in the legal and / or commercial departments of airline companies.
He regularly has articles published in a variety of specialist journals (Revue Française de Droit Aérien et Spatial, Revista de Derecho del Transporte Terrestre, Maritimo, Aéreo y Multimodal).
